We are getting close to to putting our Rovi Copyblock embedder in place. Over 600 DVD's to re-author, format, embed, proof and master. New DDP file sets and masters for one of Tango Productions, Inc. biggest and best clients. We've got some serious ingest and file management workflow taking place and we are keeping ahead of the curve at every step. Our client saw a need to protect their investment of well over 6000 hours of video content and we stepped up to offer Rovi Copyblock and Ripguard as a safeguard to there valuable assets. Rovi CopyBlock acts as a deterrent to the casual and advanced DVD ripping tools available on the web today. It acts as a case for the VOB files and scrambles them when copied or crashes the copy while in progress. I had a first hand account of this during testing it actually would crash the Macs Finder while trying to drag and drop the Video TS folders to my desktop. This was actually the first time something like crashing my Mac would bring a smile to my face! We even have tested against more advanced disc copying utilities and have found it to stand up very well. There will be more on this to follow.

Our clients provide DVDs to customers worldwide. By protecting against copyright infringement, we have provided an extra level of security that gives them an added return on their investment. Their library of 1000’s of disc will undergo the Rovi Ripguard and Copyblock protection over the course of 6 months in a process that involves us compiling authoring scripts from an original replicated disc. We'll use to Scenarist to output the DDP file set which is then sent to the new Ripguard embedder. This process demands a thorough proof and quality assurances as file will be transfered and muxed quite a few times until the end product is reached. It's all in a days work for Tango’s top shelf team.
